This school at Shungal, Himachal Pradesh is a perfect example of education for all. Started in 1998, this primary school had 16 students but currently, it has only 2 students along with 2 teachers. Situated in Solan District, the village has a total population of only 135, as per the 2011 census. Keeping the geographical situations in mind it is difficult for younger kids to travel far for education hence the Himachal Government along with the villagers initiated this school for students until the 5th standard. After this, the kids are old enough to travel to the next village for further education. The Government made great efforts to make all the basic amenities possible for these two students. This school is an example of how India strive towards literacy in the most remote places. It is these kinds of inspiring collaborative efforts that bring developmental change in the community.
