Held in the heart of Bengaluru at the iconic Lalbagh Botanical Garden, the Lalbagh Flower Show is among the world’s longest-running floral festivals — a vibrant celebration of nature, culture, and creativity. This biannual spectacle, dating back to 1912, now ranks as the third-longest-running flower show globally. Each edition draws over 9.6 lakh visitors and showcases a stunning display of more than 30 lakh flowers.

The 2024 edition paid a striking tribute to Basavanna, the 12th-century philosopher, poet, and social reformer. At its centre stood a towering floral sculpture of Basavanna, surrounded by intricate recreations of the Anubhava Mantapa and floral tributes to Vachana literature and Veerashaiva philosophy — transforming the historic Glass House (inspired by London’s Crystal Palace) into a space of beauty, meaning, and reflection.

With roots tracing back to 1760, Lalbagh continues to be a symbol of horticultural excellence and cultural pride. The 2024 Flower Show reminded us all of the enduring bond between nature, heritage, and the spirit of community.
